Let Me Love You Ne-Yo…

Hello lovely blog readers! Welcome to the New Year- full of New things to learn about healthy and unhealthy relationships! I was working out the other day and Ne-Yo's "Let Me Love You" catchy beat came on 107.5. Obviously, it was a top 10 hit on Itunes for a hefty time there. Now, I'm sure you've all heard the song, but if you haven't here's the chorus:

Girl let me love you
And I will love you
Until you learn to love yourself
Girl let me love you
And all your trouble
Don't be afraid, girl let me help
Girl let me love you
And I will love you
Until you learn to love yourself
Girl let me love you
A heart of numbness, gets brought to life
I'll take you there

If you're anything like me, you just sang that in your head. I'll be the first to admit- this song's beat is killer, but what is it really saying?

The key to a long, healthy, fun relationship is knowing who you are and knowing your boundaries before the relationship even starts! This allows you to know what exactly you want and it gives you a broader perspective about the well-being of your relationship. Loving yourself and being comfortable with who you are is so important! If you don't love yourself, you won't be able to tell if your significant other truly loves you.

You shouldn't use a relationship as a crutch for the negative things happening in your life. You should use your relationship to share memories and happiness with your partner. Your "soulmate" should make you the best possible version of yourself, and shouldn't teach you to be happy. You should be happy on your own, so you can be the best possible partner. Remember, a relationship works both ways!

So, lovely TERA blog readers, love yourself first, so your relationship can be the best relationship possible!
